Can I cancel my membership?

Direct Debit Payers

You are able to cancel your membership (once you have paid for 3-months) by providing 1-month’s written notice to the Leisure Card Office. Cancellations must be received by the first of each month to ensure direct debits are cancelled for the following month. For example cancellations received on the 01st September will be cancelled by the 01st October. Email to: leisurecard@bedford.gov.uk will be accepted as written notice.

Annual Payers

If you pay upfront for a year then you have entered into a 12-month contract and cannot cancel. You may however freeze your membership for a maximum of 6-months no matter the reason. You must write or email the Leisure Card Office before the date your wish to freeze.

Is there a minimum contract?

Direct Debit Payers

Yes, you are signing up to a minimum 3-month contract. Memberships cannot be cancelled before 3-months membership has been paid.  There is no renewal date for a membership, therefore, you will need to cancel your membership when you wish to stop.

Annual Payers

Yes, you are signing up to a 12-month contract. Once your 12-months is up you will be sent a renewal notice.

NO CANCELLATION WILL BE BACKDATED.

What do I do if I’ve lost my card?

Lost, stolen or damaged cards must be replaced. Please contact the Leisure Card Office on 01234 350300 for a replacement form. A £3.00 fee will be charged.

Can I freeze my membership?

Direct Debit Payers

Only on proven medical grounds. In this case cardholders must supply medical proof along with a letter requesting that the membership is frozen. 1-month’s notice is required and the membership can only be frozen for a minimum of 1-month and a maximum of 6-months.

Annual Payers

Yes, you can freeze your membership at any time.  Membership’s must be frozen in month blocks and for a minimum of 1-month and maximum of 6-months.  All requests must be made in advance by writing or email to the Leisure Card Office.

THE FREEZING OF A MEMBERSHIP MUST BE DONE IN ADVANCE. NO FREEZING WILL BE BACK DATED.

How do I renew my membership?

Direct Debit Payers

You do not need to renew your membership. All direct debit memberships are continuous until you provide one month’s written notice to cancel. This provides the member greater flexibility as they are not tied into a 12-month contract.

Annual Payers

Approximately 6 weeks before your membership is due to expire you will be sent a letter and renewal form in the post.

What happens if I’m ill?

If you are going to be unable to use your membership for a prolonged period of time for medical reasons then you are able to freeze your membership. If you pay by direct debit you must supply medical evidence and one month’s notice. If you pay annually you must supply written notice as soon as you can.

THE FREEZING OF A MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT BE BACKDATED.

Can I upgrade/downgrade my membership?

Direct Debit Payers

You must supply one month’s written notice to the Leisure Card Office detailing your request. If you are downgrading you can only change once the first 3-months’ have been paid.

Annual Payers

Annual payers can only upgrade their memberships. You will need to supply your request in writing, along with the upgrade payment for the remaining of your contact. Please contact the Leisure Card Office first for the additional charge and details.

Can I change my membership to another Images gym?

Direct Debit Payers

Yes. Please contact the Leisure Card Office for details.

Annual Payers

Your membership can be changed to another gym, however, refund are not available if you are changing to a less expensive gym.  If you wish to change to a more expensive gym you will be required to pay the difference.  Please contact the Leisure Card Office.

What date does the direct debit come out?

All direct debits are taken on, or as close to, the 1st working day of each month.

What happens when a membership price changes?

Direct Debit Payers

All Images prices are subject to change at the beginning of each year. If your monthly membership price is subject to a price change you will be informed in writing in advance.

Annual Payers

The annual Images membership prices my be changed at the beginning of each year. However, as you are paying upfront for your membership for 12-months, this will not affect you until your renewal date.
